"Let's swap roles,
You wait, and I don't come back."

"Let's swap characters,
You ponder, and I squander time."

"Let's swap lives,
You die inside, and I wield the knife."




* The first couplet is by Mahmoud Darwish, a Palestinian poet, apart from the comma I've added after "wait".
